1. Refund Policy


For refunds first obtain a RMA# from one of our customer support representatives. You will need to send the following information:
  1. Your first and last name
  2. The item(s) you are returning
  3. The order number (note: this order number MUST be the POCKETEC order confirmation number no other numbers will be accepted)
  4. Reason for return

Please send the above information to: support@pocketec.net

All refunds must be sent back to POCKETEC within 30 (thirty) days of when the item(s) were shipped out. If the item(s) are received after 30 (thirty) days of the original shipment date, no refund will be applied and the item(s) will be returned.

All item(s) returned must be in new condition. If there are any missing item(s) the appropriate retail amount of the said item(s) will be deducted from the refund amount. All shipping charges related said item(s) will not be refunded. Any return shipping charges are your responsibility.

2. Exchange Policy

For exchanges, first obtain a RMA# from one of our customer support representatives. You will need to send the following information:

  1. Your first and last name
  2. Your return address (sorry no PO Boxes, APO’s or any address outside North America)
  3. Your day time phone number
  4. The item(s) you are returning
  5. The vendor from whom you’ve purchased the drive
  6. The date you purchased it
  7. The order number associated with the purchase
  8. A copy of the receipt or invoice

POCKETEC will exchange any product for equal value or lesser value that was purchased within 90-days of inquiry. You MUST have your receipt or invoice from an authorized POCKETEC vendor. You must present a copy of your receipt or invoice at the time of the exchange. Any item(s) being exchanged are valued at the full retail value at the time of the exchange. All item(s) being returned must be received within 90 days of the original purchase date.



3. Return for Service Policy


For any item(s) being returned for repair, you must first obtain a RMA# from one of our customer support representatives. Please send the following information:
  1. Your first and last name
  2. Your return address (sorry no PO Boxes, APO’s or any address outside North America)
  3. Your day time phone number
  4. The item(s) you are returning
  5. The vendor from whom you’ve purchased the drive
  6. The date you purchased it
  7. The order number associated with the purchase
  8. A copy of the receipt or invoice
  9. Reason for return for service

Please send all of the above information to: support@pocketec.net if any of the above information is missing, our support representatives will be unable to provide a RMA#

POCKETEC will repair any drive under warranty. Any item(s) returned for service will undergo analysis and repair. If repair is not possible, the item(s) will be replaced.

POCKETEC has no liability for general, consequential, incidental or special damages. These include loss of recorded data, the cost of recovery of lost data, lost profits, downtime, loss of goodwill, damage to or replacement of equipment and property, the cost of the installation or removal of any Products, the installation of replacement Products, and any necessary inspection, testing, or redesign caused by any defect or by the repair or replacement of Products arising from a defect in any Product.

Item(s) must be received within 30 (thirty) days of RMA issuance. If no item(s) are returned within the 30 (thirty) days the RMA will be closed.

All item(s) being returned for service under warranty must arrive at the specified POCKETEC service facility within 1 year of the purchase date. A copy of the receipt or invoice must be presented at the time for a proof of warranty. Failure to do so will result in service outside of warranty. A bill will be provided at the time for out of warranty repairs. No replacements are available for item(s) returned outside of warranty.




4. Privacy Policy


POCKETEC is aware of your concerns about your data on our products. This notice describes our privacy policy. By returning a POCKETEC product, you are accepting the practices described in this privacy notice.
Our privacy policy is for return of defective hard drives to POCKETEC only.


Return of defective hard drives to POCKETEC:

Defective hard drives returned to POCKETEC: Any hard drive returned to POCKETEC goes through a standard series of procedures unless specified otherwise at the time a RMA was assigned.

All drives will first undergo a failure analysis; this helps our engineering and technical support team further improve our products and support. Unless specified otherwise, all drives will be attempted to be repaired. If the drive cannot be repaired, it will be replaced with a refurbished or new hard drive.
All hard drives are tested with testing machines that will test the hard drive and it’s components but not allow POCKETEC access to any data on the hard drive.

Data on hard drives returned to POCKETEC: Any data on hard drives is not covered by the warranty. However, POCKETEC understands the importance of your data and POCKETEC treats it with the utmost care and concern.
Data recovery requests may be made for hard drives that cannot be repaired. An additional fee is required for data recovery and will vary case to case. Data wiped requests may be made whether or not the hard drive is defective. When POCKETEC technicians wipe the drive any and all data will be destroyed. The owner of the POCKETEC hard drive may also request that the hard drive to be destroyed. This procedure only destroys the disk platters, of which data is stored.

Data privacy: All data on any POCKETEC hard drive is considered to be private and protected. POCKETEC will not access (read/write/copy/execute) any data on the drive unless the owner of the hard drive grants specific permission to do so. Verbal or written permission can be given to POCKETEC at any time.
