How long does it take for my order to process?
Orders are usually processed within 2-3 business days.
02. How can
I expedite the order process?
If the billing and shipping address are the same, orders
ship quicker. If your billing and shipping address are
different, you can use the Google Checkout option to expedite
shipping.
03. How do
I place a tax exempt order?
We only charge sales tax for the state of Georgia. For
government agencies in Georgia, please click here for
further instructions. You will need your tax exempt certificate.
04. Does POCKETEC
offer any trade-in or upgrade programs?
Unfortunately we do not offer such programs at this time.
05. What operating
systems do your products support?
For the DataStor and DataStor SATA Windows 98SE/2000/2003/XP/VISTA,
MAC OS X+, Linux 2.4+ and for the NANO Windows 2000/XP/VISTA
and MAC OS X+.
06. Does the
drive come pre-formatted?
Yes, the drives are pre-formatted to FAT32.
07. How long
is the warranty?
The warranty is 1 year. An extended warranty (extends
to 3 years) is available at the time of purchase. Additional
information can be found here.
08. Where
can I buy your drive besides online?
Unfortunately, you are only able to buy our products online
at the time.
09. Can I
order by COD?
We only take credit card orders. For terms, please contact
your sales representative.
10. What’s
the difference between the DataStor and DataStor SATA?
You can see the comparison here.
11. Does higher
capacity drives require more power?
Yes, they do. While the start-up power remains the same,
the read/write max is slightly higher than lower capacity
drives. However, the difference is not large. Example,
the difference between a 80GB and 250GB drive is about
20 mAh.
12. Why do
I get this message: “A hi-speed device was connected
to a non hi-speed USB hub”?
All this is saying is that the device you’re connected
to a USB 2.0 device and the USB port is not USB 2.0 Unfortunately,
there’s no way to turn off this message unless you
connect it to a USB 2.0 port.
13. Can I
use the POCKETEC drive with a USB hub?
If the hub is a high powered type you can. All high powered
hubs have AC adapters to provide it the power it needs.
The USB powered hubs will not work.
14. Does the
warranty cover data on the drive?
No, it does not. It is important that you back up your
data because accidents can happen. (Meaning you have a
duplicate copy somewhere else).
15. Do airport
scanners and x-rays affect the POCKETEC drives?
They do not harm the drives. You should remove the drive
from your carry on during air port check points though.
16. Can I
use the POCKETEC drive with my Navigation or Car Stereo?
Yes you can. Make sure the device is compatible with external
USB devices prior to trying. Typically, if the device
has a USB B-type input port, it will work.
17. Why doesn’t
my POCKETEC drive work?
