Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista | My Computer does not recognize the POCKETEC drive | Code 28



The drivers are not present, not working properly or not installed. (Code 28)

If you are receiving this message, you’ll need to re-install the drivers. We recommend doing a clean install, please do the following:

  1. Cancel out of the properties window.
  2. Right-click on the USB MASS STORAGE DEVICE.
  3. Select Remove or Uninstall.
  4. After the device is removed, restart your computer.
  5. While the computer is restarting, disconnect the POCKETEC drive from the computer.
  6. After the computer restarts, open the Control Panel (Start > Settings > Control Panel)
  7. Open the Add/Remove Programs utility
  8. Depending on the model you have the driver name will vary please look for the following driver types:
    a. TPP STORAGE DRIVER INSTALLATION
    b. USB STORAGE ADAPTER (TPP)
    c. USB STORAGE ADAPTER v2
    d. USB STORAGE ADAPTER v3
    e. USB DRIVERS
  9. Please select the corresponding driver and remove it. (If you do not have any of the above listed, continue to #10).
  10. Restart your computer.
  11. You will get a FOUND NEW HARDWARE message.
  12. Let the drive re-install.
  13. After the drive is installed, it should be working.
